The National Tourism Confederation proposes “10 measures” to protect companies and preserve jobs

 The Confederation proposed extending the arrangements for the payment of arbitrary compensation by the National Social Security Fund, and reviewing the due dates for the payment of the deferred social burdens due in the years 2020 and 2021, in order to start payment once travel restrictions are lifted, and postponing the tax dues for the years 2020 and 2021.


In the same context, the Confederation called for the redefinition of “Oxygen Guarantee” loans and long-term bank debts with the professional group of Moroccan banks, the postponement of maturity dates for lease loans and consumer loans for companies in the sector, as well as for workers, and the start of repayment of the 12 months starting from the date of lifting the travel restrictions without performance costs or penalties.


The Confederation stressed the need to speed up the creation of the Tourism Fund supported by the Mohammed VI Fund for Investment in order to inject private or semi-private funds into the public budgets of companies in the sector, and to stimulate internal demand by encouraging travel through the creation of tax-free “vacation checks.” And the regionalization of the school holidays schedule.


The confederation also considers it necessary to establish regional funding, to enhance the competitiveness of actors, encourage the emergence of new systems and promote job creation in rural areas through eco-tourism, sports and cultural tourism...


Among the ten measures proposed by the CNT are the development of an "offensive" action plan to restore confidence with airlines, consolidate relations with tour operators and reform the tax system, improve measurement, tracking and management tools through reform of the National Tourism Observatory, and create a competitive monitoring platform, to As well as setting up a crisis management mechanism that includes the public and private sectors.

 


It is noteworthy that these proposed measures fall within the continuity of the measures stipulated in the "Programme Contract" concluded on August 3, 2020, which the Confederation proposes to amend and prioritize in view of the current context.
